CONFERENCES
Conferences are the exciting part of Model UN, where you put your skills into action! It is in the conferences that politics and international affairs come alive - students can explore conflicts, debate solutions, expound on prevention strategies, and living history. Some will find themselves frantically putting together resolutions to save the lives of refugees in the Mediterranean. Others will be running room-to-room trying to save Ancient Sparta. Either way, it will be fun and a great learning experience.
For most club-organized conferences, we will arrange transportation and/or subsidize costs where possible.

FXMUN 2019-2020
CCIMUN 2019
Our first conference of the 2019-2020 chapter was CCIMUN at Cedarbrae Collegiate Institute on December 5th. There was a large group of committees that we were able to choose from such as Human Rights, African Union, Security Council, Arrowverse, and the UN Environmental Programme. A number of our members won awards in their committees! Kamal Hesham and Bhoovi Handa received Best Delegate, Mustafa Khan received Outstanding Delegate, Sana Rauf received Best Position Paper and Jonathan Wang received an award as well. CCIMUN gave all of our members an opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge learned at regular club meetings during mock sessions. We are proud of all of their efforts and congratulate them on starting the chapter well!
King'sMUN 2020
FX Model UN attended KINGSMUN at King’s Christian Collegiate on March 31, 2020. It started off with a speech from Dillon Mendes who talked about his recycling initiative called PickWaste. He explained how he started this initiative and the impact it has made on his life and in his community. Dillon inspired all of the delegates to make a change in the world by doing small things just like he did. At KINGSMUN, committees included Arab League, Human Rights, Marvel, the UN Environmental Programme and more. Mustafa Khan, Mamin Mehboob, and Sana Rauf all won awards and made our club proud. This conference gave members the opportunity to further improve their speaking skills and make connections with other people. Overall, this experience was extremely rewarding and we look forward to our next KINGSMUN conference!
